1. 植物基因组进化与基因发掘:开展我国热带亚热带重要园艺植物野生种及野生近缘种比较和进化基因组学研究。

2. 珍稀濒危植物保护生物学:开展重要珍稀濒危植物类群遗传多样性、濒危机制和保育策略研究。

3. 喀斯特植物多样性演化与物种形成:重点开展苦苣苔科、秋海棠属等典型喀斯特植物类群系统发育、物种形成和适应性进化研究。
